GOLF TOURNAMENT 2008

It was COLD on May 21, 2008!!! The temperature was 6 degrees at noon!!! But, 28 golfers dressed warmly and braved the cold to arrive at Woodstock Meadows that day.
The President of RTO-Oxford, Barry Tate was on hand to help with registration and hand out the rules for our Step-Aside Scramble. Because it was SO COLD, the tournament was changed at the last minute from 18 holes to 9 holes. There was some scrambling to get all the rule sheets changed, but everything worked out. All the golfers appreciated the fact that the tournament was shortened!
The winning team consisted of Chris Palmer, Dianne Ward, Jim Thomson and Mike Ignor. Prizes were also awarded for closest to the pin, closest to the line and the highest score in a putting contest. Mary Margaret Braund bundled up and ran the putting contest. Her assistance was much appreciated. There was lots of coffee and Bailey’s consumed that day just to keep warm!
