Retired Teachers of Ontario
The Retired Teachers of Ontario - commonly referred to as RTO/ERO - is the provincial
organization of retired teachers, administrators and others receiving pensions and allowances
under the Ontario Teachers's Pension Plan(OTPP).

Strength In Numbers

We are an organization made up primarily of retired teachers. Our strength in numbers gives us
political clout to make a difference and the financial benefit of reduced costs for health
care and insurance.
Voluntary.... Not Automatic

While membership is voluntary, all retired teachers stand to benfit from the services and
programs RTO/ERO members work hard to gain and maintain for their colleagues. Your membership
entitles you to affiliate with our District. Important service to members is rendered by the
District. It is your link to the provincial organization and all your retired colleagues.
RTO/ERO Needs Your Support

You will benefit from our past successes in achieving pension improvements. RTO/ERO needs
your help to ensure future successes. There are many opportunities for RTO/ERO members to
become involved in the work at both the District and Provincial levels. If you wish to
become involved in the work of RTO/ERO at the District level, contact:
