Health Plans Changes
Effective January 1, 2008

For 2008, the annual fee for membership in RTO/ERO shall be $1.20 per $1,000 or major fraction thereof, of gross annual pension. You must be a member of RTO/ERO to be accepted into the RTO/ERO Health Plan.

Semi-Private Hospital Plan

Semi-Private Hospital room reimbursement is increased to 90%, with an unlimited maximum.

Extended Health Care Plan

1). The annual maximun for surgical support stockings is increased to $300.00

2). The definition of the Extended Heath Care Plan's Out-of-Province/Canada "sudden and unforseen Medical Stability Clause" is revised to include the following parameters:

* Any cancer, heart or lung condition for which, in 90 days prior to your date of departure (or date of booking for the purpose of Trip Cancellation):

- you were waiting the outcome medical tests (except routine monitoring), the results of which show any irregularities, or abnormalities:

- Except routine monitoring, you require future investigation, consultation with any physician, treatment or surgery recommended by your physician or planned before your trip.

* Any condition for which you are admitted to hospital for a period of at least 24 hours in the 90 days prior to the date of departure ( or date of booking for the purpose of Trip Cancellation).

* Any condition for which you have been advised by a physician not to travel.

 

3). The annual prescription drug maximum for erectile deffunction medications is increased to $350.00.

4). The annual prescription drug maximum is increased to $2100.00.

5). The post-surgical eyeglass restriction for laser eye surgery is removed.
